This year, our campaign is focused on gibbon rehabilitation
We are raising funds to improve and expand our gibbon enclosures, creating more spacious and enriching environments for the gibbons in our care, and you can help.
One of them is Furina, a Müller’s Gibbon who was taken from the forests of Borneo as a baby and spent more than ten years as a pet, confined to a beam just two metres long. Today, Furina is safe at Cikananga. She can climb, move freely and express many of the natural behaviours that were taken away from her for so many years.

Furina was kept for years as a pet, on a chain
But rehabilitation takes time, the right care, and the right environment. Your donation can help us create better spaces for Furina and the other gibbons in our care, giving them more opportunities to climb, move, explore and express their natural behaviours.
If you want to help gibbons like Furina, please support Cikanaga during Giving Days for Apes; your donation gives us the chance to secure even more support, meaning your gift makes a difference more than once.
Visit the Giving Days for Apes 2026 website: Find more information on how to donate for Gibbons like Furina here.

Thank you for helping the Gibbons at Cikananga
Your donation can help us create better spaces for Furina and the other gibbons in our care, giving them more opportunities to climb, move, explore and express their natural behaviours, and possibly even a perspective for living in the wild again for some of the Gibbons. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let us know or donate right away through the donation button.
