Exciting progress at the Primate Block
Over the past few months, Cikananga's maintenance man, Pak Endang, and his team have worked hard to improve the enclosures for long-resident and sanctuary primates at Cikananga Wildlife Center. The improvements have made a huge difference in the lives of our primates and have improved their welfare a lot.
A huge Thanks to Abri voor Dieren for their amazing and generous support to make these improvements of the primate enclosures possible. We were able to: Install tunnels connecting all the primate enclosures, and Add nearly 2 extra meters of height to three of the enclosures.
These changes have significantly improved welfare: Moving primates is now easier and far less stressful, there’s more space to explore and climb,the primates can now sit higher, swing freely, and express more natural behaviors. We’re so grateful for this support, and even more excited to see the positive impact it’s having every day!
